Each month in Music, as a part of our Artist Appreciation, we learn all about a particular artist. 

In September, the children learnt all about the legend and UK artist - David Bowie - from his upbringing and how he got into music, to his work in films. 

This month, as it is Black History month, we are learning all about Nina Simone.

In October, the children learned all about the musician Ethel Smyth. Dame Ethel Mary Smyth DBE was an English composer and a member of the women's suffrage movement. During our assemblies we will be learning about Ethel Smyth and completing some work to showcase our understanding.
